Roberts Pizzarotti Sponsors Constructathon

“Roberts Pizzarotti are proud to be a founding partner of Australia’s first construction hackathon. As an industry we need to do better at working together to solve industry problems, and that’s exactly what Constructathon 2019 is all about.” Emma Shipley, Chief Financial Officer at Roberts Pizzarotti.

Constructathon 2019 is Australia’s first ever construction hackathon and aims to collaboratively solve industry-wide problems in a fast-paced environment.

It brings together over 120 leading construction industry and tech bodies across the supply chain to innovate and collaborate.

Held at Google Head Offices on Friday 23th and Saturday 24th of August 2019 from 8am to 7pm both days.

The event’s partners are Boral, Built, Roberts Pizzarotti, Laing O’Rourke, Mirvac, Stockland, endorsed by the Master Builders Association (NSW), Cbus, Property Council of Australia and Western Sydney University. Constructathon 2019 is sponsored by Google Cloud and is held at their head office in Pyrmont.

“Roberts Pizzarotti are proud to be a founding partner of Australia’s first construction hackathon. As an industry we need to do better at working together to solve industry problems, and that’s exactly what Constructathon 2019 is all about,” says Emma Shipley, Chief Financial Officer at Roberts Pizzarotti.

Teams will work together over the two-days with subject matter experts to help solve real-world challenges facing the construction industry. Winning ideas will be taken into a seed-funded incubator to develop the ideas further.

“When we consider innovation in Australia’s construction industry there are pockets of excellence but there are significant opportunities to do things better – whether through digital solutions, process engineering, safer and more sustainable practices, and so on. Many of the challenges we face are common across the supply chain so coming together to solve them as an industry makes a lot sense.” says William Payne, Chief Information Officer & Digital Innovation at Boral.

The organisers are currently crowdsourcing the challenges Constructathon 2019 aims to solve.

Sujeet Rana, Chief Digital Officer at Built adds “Too often we look to those outside our industry to help us transform for the future when in many instances the required skills, knowledge and passion lie within it just looking for an opportunity to demonstrate what’s possible. Constructathon does just that by inviting participants from across the entire value chain to take part in solving some of our industry’s biggest problems by providing a platform for true innovation.”
