Contract Type Design and Construct

Roberts Co recently completed the state-of-the-art 44,000m2 GFA Clinical Services Building at the Concord Hospital as part of the Stage 1 Redevelopment for NSW Health Infrastructure.

The new building, known as the Rusty Priest Centre for Rehabilitation and Aged Care, re-houses and expands Aged Complex Care and Rehabilitation services, Veteran’s Physical and Mental Health Treatment and Rehabilitation services.

The project includes an integrated Cancer Care Centre, as well as inpatient services in new purpose-built facilities. A 3-storey atrium links the new building into the current clinical services building.

Construction commenced in April 2019 with a NSW Government first – a 5-day work week implemented on the project.

Roberts Co and the NSW Government have jointly engaged UNSW to study the benefits of the 5-day work week on the mental health and wellbeing of site workers and their families. While we await the results of the final report, the interim report saw higher productivity and happiness on site and an increase in quality of work and safety.
